1. Who we are
This website (the "Website") is a personal online CV owned and operated by Emelia Bernardo as a private individual. Emelia Bernardo is the data controller for any personal information collected through the Website.
This policy explains, in plain language, what information we collect, why, and what your rights are. It should be read together with our Terms & Conditions.
2. What information we collect
This Website has no contact form, user accounts, or any way to submit information directly to us. The only personal information we collect is:
- Standard server logs. Like almost every website, our hosting provider records technical details of each visit, such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested, for security and to keep the Website running.
If you contact Emelia Bernardo through LinkedIn, that conversation takes place on LinkedIn and is governed by LinkedIn's own privacy policy, not this one.
3. Why we use it and our lawful basis
- To keep the Website secure and available. Server logs are used to detect and prevent abuse and to fix problems. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in running a safe, reliable Website.
We do not use your information for marketing, profiling or automated decision-making.
4. Where your information goes
The Website is hosted with Amazon Web Services (AWS) and delivered through Cloudflare. Server logs stay with those providers and are not shared onward, except as set out in section 6.
5. How long we keep it
Server logs are kept by our hosting provider for a short period and then deleted automatically.
7. Your rights
Under UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018 you have the right to:
- Ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you
- Ask us to correct information that is wrong or incomplete
- Ask us to delete your information
- Ask us to restrict how we use your information, or object to our use of it
- Ask for your information in a portable format, where this applies
To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details in section 10. We will respond within one month. There is normally no fee.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Please check back occasionally.
10. Contact and complaints
If you have any questions about this policy or how we handle your information, please contact us. We aim to respond within 5 business days.
